Kate
Your commentary on “what if more children had died“ really struck home and contained a lot of truth. I grew up in Washington DC, born in 1940. My brother was born in 1944 and died in 1948 of polio. I was away at summer camp in the Poconos of Pennsylvania at that time. My mother never got over my brother’s death, and I still have memories of him and miss him. This whole era was a tragic time with no protection from this hidden disease. I see that you are currently in Albany, New York. I went to RPI as an undergraduate so I know the area. Keep up your good writing. I look forward to seeing more cones by you columns by you.
Sincerely, Hank Mosler
