I was qitre interested in your Opinion piece in the Washington Post. I, too, believe one cannot equate morality with religion. I did want to point out that one can be an atheist and belong to various “religions, ” such as Unitarian Universalism. I chose to raise my children as atheists within that structure. Of course, that does not negate the point that there are ethical dangers in invoking religion to support positions, left or right. Thank you for your thoughtful and thought provoking piece.
