I agree with your opinion in the May 28, 2021 edition of the Washington Post. In the early days of the pandemic, I tracked deaths by age and geographic location in my state of residence, New Hampshire. Older people were more likely to die; younger people were not.
COVID-19 is the second pandemic of my life The first was polio, in Illinois. My mother, seeing a high school friend in an iron lung, made sure that she, as well my five year old self, drank the liquid and ate the sugar cubes. And so did most everyone else. But COVID? My husband and I were prisoners in our home for months, waiting for someone, somewhere to develop a vaccine. May no one in America ever go through that again.
