I just read your article in Freethought Today. Your daughter asked “And where’s the evidence he doesn’t exist?”
Philosophically, the existence of evil has been a good bet that there is no god.
Also I have found that this question in reply will make anyone asking for evidence to muse on this for awhile. “How would you recognize the evidence if I got it for you?”
These two puzzles should at least give a ten-year-old something to chew on until the right book comes along. Seeking a definitive statement (God does not exist) is not wise. “I do not believe in God” is more helpful.” This tact turned me to become an atheist. I was a minister for 25 years.
A good quote (my favorite) for a child or someone with a child-like mind is that the non-existent god and the invisible one look very much alike.
Good Luck.
